Craig DePole

President

Craig has been raising funds for great causes for more than 20 years. He gets a lot of joy out of bringing together his right brain creativity and his left brain scientific analysis to help nonprofit organizations create a better world. He has raised millions upon millions of dollars and helped foster long term relationships with donors through multi-channel, donor-centric, integrated fundraising strategies.

Craig is an active contributor to the direct marketing and fundraising community. He’s a frequent speaker at industry conferences and he has authored articles for industry publications. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Direct Response Fundraising Counsel (ADFRCO). Over the years, his work has earned dozens of awards for nonprofit direct marketing excellence from the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and the New England Direct Marketing Association. In his free time, when he is not cheering from the sideline of a soccer, lacrosse or field hockey field, he is raising funds for his kids’ school as chair of the Advancement Committee. Craig is a native Californian and lives in Maryland with his wife, three kids, and adopted dog, Vinny.

Chris Barry

Partner/Senior Vice President

Chris has provided award-winning direct marketing expertise to The ALS Association, Rosie’s Place, Father Bill’s & MainSpring, Perkins School for the Blind, Crossroads Rhode Island, Lahey Clinic and The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Chris focuses on delivering exceptional client service, proven direct marketing skills and strong analytical background to each of his assignments.

Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE, Chris was the direct marketing director at the National Easter Seal Society. In twelve years of service, Chris was responsible for the production of over 250 million direct mail packages and the generation of over $150 million in donations while managing a sophisticated database of over 5 million donors for 100 chapters.

He has spoken at many regional and national non-profit marketing conferences.

Mark Jacobson

Partner/Senior Vice President

Mark began his direct marketing career in 1979 when he built a direct mail fundraising program for a fraternal membership organization. Three years later, he put together his own direct marketing firm and has been involved in leadership roles in direct response fundraising agency work ever since.

Mark has initiated, strategized, consulted, managed, analyzed, and/or functioned as creative director for more than 1,375 successful direct marketing fundraising programs for more than 265 different non-profit organizations nationwide. He works with clients as their program’s chief strategic planner, building creative (program concept, copy writing, direct mail package design), advanced segmentation, and interpreting analytics to inform future efforts.

In recent years, Mark’s clients served have largely included regional and national healthcare and medical/health-related organizations, plus a wide variety of human/social services, cause-related, Catholic and religious, cultural, historical, and preservation groups. He helps most of his clients build multi-leveled online complements to their direct response “friend-raising” and fundraising programs.

Andrew Olsen, CFRE

Senior Vice President

Andrew is an award-winning fundraiser and the driving force behind growing brand awareness and increasing market share for hundreds of charitable organizations. His energetic style and profound understanding of the marketplace have helped raise more than $200 million to change lives and shape the nation’s public policy.

Over his 17 year career, Andrew has worked on behalf of such organizations as Feeding America, the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Lutheran Social Services, The Smile Train, Save the Children, Special Olympics, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, University of Tennessee Medical Center, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Appalachia Service Project, and Goodwill Industries.

He is a member of the Board of Directors at the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, and is a passionate advocate for people living in poverty. He is co-author of Rainmaking: The Fundraiser’s Guide to Landing Big Gifts, and is frequently sought after to speak and write on topics impacting the nonprofit sector.

When he’s not working you’ll either find Andrew on the soccer field cheering his two young daughters to victory, or in the gym perfecting his kickboxing technique

Lisa M. Smith

Senior Vice President

Lisa is a highly experienced and driven professional who’s spent over 30 years helping nonprofits, people and agencies grow. Lisa helps organizations better understand their donors by analyzing behavior, demographic and psychographic data. Her expertise lies in developing offers, messaging and treatments, mapping strategies and investment to unique donor segments.

Lisa has been fortunate to work with many nonprofits across market sectors including American Cancer Society, Bright Focus, CARE USA, Covenant House, Doctors Without Borders, Environmental Defense Fund, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Smithsonian Institution, Special Olympics and Washington National Cathedral. Before joining NEWPORT ONE, Lisa served as strategist and team leader at Russ Reid and SCA Direct both subsidiaries of Omnicom.

Through the years, Lisa has won multiple industry awards for excellence in strategy and creative. She’s spoken at many industry and agency conferences and has been a long-time member of DMA, DMAW, DMFA and New England Direct Marketing Association.

Lisa is a true Bostonian, a lover of history, genealogy, food, well-written books, the arts, travel and of course the local sports scene. Most especially Lisa loves her family and friends, both two- and four-legged kinds. A true Piscean, Lisa finds the beach at dawn, dusk and anytime in between beautiful and restorative.

Collin Ward

Senior Vice President

Collin Ward is a proven strategist with nearly 15 years of experience leveraging data and research into innovative marketing and fundraising campaigns. Over the course of his career, Collin has helped nonprofits, advocacy groups, and political campaigns develop innovative and effective fundraising strategies across multiple channels. An expert in leveraging data and research to inform strategy, Collin has thrived in the fast-paced world of direct response fundraising – in both online and offline channels.

Before joining NEWPORT ONE, Collin was the Director of Integrated Marketing for Women for Women International, an international NGO that works with the most marginalized women in war-torn countries. While there, he aligned both the offline and online fundraising strategies, rebuilt a digital program, and exceeded small donor revenue projections. Prior to that, Collin was the Director of Marketing for the Democratic National Committee. While at the DNC, he integrated messaging across channels and turned the marketing department into a data-driven marketing machine that increased grassroots financial support, and mobilized millions of supporters across the U.S.

This is Collin’s second tour with NEWPORT ONE, and over the course of his career he has worked with a variety of clients like the Human Rights Campaign, National Organization for Women, National Parks Foundation, the World Wildlife Fund, The Smithsonian Institute, Best Friends Animal Society and others. Collin started his career working at a boutique advertising agency in his native home of Southern California.

Collin holds a degree in Marketing from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters in Communications from The Johns Hopkins University. He has been invited to speak regularly on industry trends and best practices at conferences for the Direct Marketing Association and the Nonprofit Technology Network. He lives in the historic Shaw District of Washington, D.C. with his husband and two dogs and can often be seen running the National Mall in preparation for his next triathlon.

David Gregory

Vice President of Strategic Development

David joined NEWPORT ONE to bring excellence in fundraising to non-profit clients. With more than 15 years of non-profit experience and 11 years in animal welfare, David is driven by focusing on strategically building successful programs.

Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE, David served as an executive for a large animal welfare organization, where he was integral in the fundraising and development for the $18 million budget. In this strategic role, David built a plan that invested in the future, growing the donor file and total giving. This strategic plan included integrated media, digital elements, increased acquisition using new channels, and enhancing the content of the mail. A core belief for David is that data drives our decisions and analytics will provide significant insight.

David is passionate about excellence in organizational leadership and actively serves on several non-profit boards. He is a member of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) and served on two committees for five years. David is a native of Michigan and currently resides in Canton, MI, with his wife Jill, their four kids, and two adopted dogs, Samson and Pudge.

Maureen Garretson

Vice President of Operations

Maureen has a passion to make NEWPORT ONE the success it is! As Vice President of Operations, she handles the day-to-day operations and is in charge of accounting, human resources and office management. Maureen juggles many tasks with hard-work, organization, and a sunny disposition!

Outside of work, Maureen is devoted to family, has a passion for gardening, kayaking and music. She volunteers in supporting the local food pantries. She is always ready to lend a hand where there is a need.

Alison Ingram-Pearson

Art Director

With more than 30 years of experience as an art director and designer, Alison Ingram-Pearson has extensive background designing direct mail, especially for non-profit organizations.

Alison’s creative and responsive designs can be seen on Perkins School for the Blind, International Eye Foundation, Hope Hospice, Home For Little Wanderers, US Olympic Shooting Team, and several hospitals, along with numerous humane societies, food banks and homeless shelters.

Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE, Alison worked for DMW Worldwide (formerly DIMAC Direct), where she developed the direct mail package designs for numerous public television stations, several museums, zoos, and animal rights organizations.

Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art. Additionally, she has extensive training in web-based design from Clark University. She resides in Marshfield, MA, with her husband.

Debbie Young

Senior Digital Strategist

Debbie is driven by her desire to help every nonprofit client progress to a higher level of digital fundraising and communications.  Her specialty is in helping nonprofits use technology tools to achieve fundraising, marketing, and advocacy success.

Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE, Debbie was an online consultant and provided strategic implementation and project management for nonprofits and agency clients including Save the Chimps, The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, SOS Children’s Villages, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, The Senior Citizen’s League, USA for UNHCR, World Wildlife Fund and others.   Among her many achievements, Debbie started the digital program at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, developing a comprehensive program that included email marketing, online fundraising, social media, and e-commerce.

When Debbie isn’t helping clients, she can be found running on a track or helping coach the local high school track team.  Debbie lives in Maryland with her husband, two boys and their adopted lab puppy.

Paul McAleer

Account Director

Paul joined NEWPORT ONE in 2001 and has been an integral part in servicing several of NEWPORT ONE’s key clients since that time.

Involved at all levels of account management, Paul is committed to keeping non-profit organizations satisfied with the experience and bottom-line results of partnering with NEWPORT ONE. Whether he’s working on creative concepts and designs, production oversight, campaign analysis or strategic planning, his attention to detail ensures that no steps are missed in achieving a client’s success.

His position at NEWPORT ONE is more than a job; it’s a way to follow the values and beliefs instilled in him by his parents on the importance of helping others.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Paul’s prior work experience included printing, research, writing and copy editing.

Stacey Rubenstein

Account Director

Stacey Rubenstein began her career in fundraising because she wanted to help worthy non-profit organizations achieve positive change in the world. Today, with more than two decades of experience, that’s still the passion that drives her every day — and puts a smile on her face.

Stacey’s broad professional experience includes account and project management, development, analytic and leadership roles at Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company; GSB Associates; the American Red Cross; OMP Direct, and Mythic, a Charlotte-based advertising agency with national commercial and nonprofit clients.

Of course, as Stacey would be the first to tell you, achieving positive change in the world starts at home. So she enjoys community volunteering and using her fundraising experience to support local arts and education organizations in her adopted hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. Stacey’s myriad other interests include photography and painting …and travel (every chance she gets).

Victoria Mannoia

Account Director

Victoria is an award-winning marketer with a heart for helping organizations transform the way they tell their story to create powerful change. Her career has taken her to both the for-profit and non-profit spheres where she has led rebranding initiatives, launched national campaigns and pioneered innovative and comprehensive marketing strategies. Her creative and unique way of thinking means she’s not afraid to ask the question, “what if…” Coupled with her espoused belief in the positive growth change brings, Victoria has winsomely navigated uncharted waters and pushed organizations into seasons where they THRIVE, rather than just exist.

Over the years, Victoria has worked with a myriad of organizations that emanate a heart for empowering the common good in people and their surrounding communities, including Focus on the Family, the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, Indiana Wesleyan University, America’s Christian Credit Union and Our Neighborhood Homework House (where she currently serves on the Board of Directors).

Victoria and her husband Christopher live in the wine country of Southern California. As a creative outlet, Victoria spends her weekends trying out new recipes, searching for the perfect antique to add to her collection or planning new travel excursions.

Ashley Moore

Account Director

With nearly 10 years of direct response fundraising experience, Ashley’s aptitude for identifying and solving clients’ toughest problems coupled with her passion for creating positive change in the world has translated to maximizing results and exceeding goals for an array of leading nonprofits.  Ashley’s extensive expertise includes leading both English and Hispanic fundraising and brand resonant direct marketing programs (acquisition, cultivation, child sponsorship and monthly sustainer) for clients across DRTV, direct mail, digital, print, radio, and outdoor channels.

Over the years Ashley has served a variety of noteworthy nonprofits, including Feed the Children, World Vision, Compassion International, American Cancer Society, Operation Smile, Focus on the Family, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Although Southern California born and raised, Ashley now calls the peach state home. Ashley is passionate about traveling but when she’s home in Atlanta, she loves to hike, garden and curl up with a good book and her sweet kitty, Quinn.

Shiva Damghany

Senior Account Manager

Shiva comes to NEWPORT ONE with a wealth of experience gained during her fifteen plus years working for non-profits in and around Boston and San Francisco. In her current role as Senior Account Manager at NEWPORT ONE, she easily relates her own triumphs and challenges in fundraising to help ensure client’s program success.

She works closely with Mark Jacobson to ensure success for the unique and diverse needs of their clients’ direct response programs. She is an analytical thinker but also provides creative solutions to ensure client’s results are both meaningful and impactful. She is proficient in many aspects of philanthropy including direct response major gifts, project management, planned giving, annual leadership giving, development communications, online/social media campaigns and budget management.

Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE, Shiva worked in the Development Offices at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Lahey Health, Mount Auburn Hospital, Harvard Divinity School, Earth Island Institute and Germain Lawrence.

Outside of work Shiva lives in Burlington with her husband and two sons. She volunteers with a local Cub Scout pack, Women Aid and Girls Rock Campaign Boston. She is a PADI certified scuba diver, enjoys outdoor activities especially at the beach and loves to cook for friends and family.

Doreen Brannigan

Graphic Artist/Account Manager

Doreen has been serving as Graphic Artist and Account Manager for NEWPORT ONE’s animal welfare consortium since 2002. With an eye toward each client’s unique needs, specific styles and fundraising goals, Doreen manages all phases of print production—from initial concept and design through final output.

She coordinates the work of NEWPORT ONE’s art department, copywriters and production vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of each client’s direct-mail packages and digital components.

Doreen has more than 20 years of experience in print production, publishing and business communications. Prior to joining NEWPORT ONE’s art department in 1999, she handled corporate communications for a Los Angeles-based computer products distributor and later served as Editor of Macintosh Publications and as a print production manager.

A native of New York, Doreen graduated from the University of Southern California with dual degrees in Journalism (Public Relations) and Psychology and received a Certificate in Graphic Design from Clark University. She resides in Kingston, MA, with her family and pets, where she spends down time dabbling in all things creative and planning travel adventures.

Courtney Humphries

Account Manager

Courtney Humphries has spent her career leveraging direct response fundraising to grow and further the missions of a wide-range of nonprofit organizations. She is passionate about providing help to those who have been neglected or forgotten, both humans and animals alike. Her passion, wealth of experience, and love of analytics help her clients reach their goals.

She has experience raising funds for a variety of causes, including: human services, healthcare, and science/research. She has worked on behalf of such esteemed organizations as Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, The Jackie Robinson Foundation, The Bowery Mission, and rescue missions across the United States.

Originally from Atlanta, Courtney now resides in Brooklyn with her husband, Josh, and their rescue dog, Bob Dylan. The three of them can usually be found in a park, on a road trip, or sitting at a local coffee shop. In her spare time, she enjoys refurbishing vintage furniture to its original glory.

Megan Klingensmith

Account Manager

Megan Klingensmith is a fundraising and marketing utility player who landed in Account Management to leverage creative and analytical strengths to help clients capitalize on opportunities for growth.  She’s loved business since roughly age 10 but upon graduating from Azusa Pacific University with a Marketing degree, decided she wanted to use her passion for business for the greater good.

Characterized by a blend of optimism, determination and humor, Megan’s career has included work with nonprofit organizations across the U.S. including The American Red Cross, Feeding America Food Banks, and Rescue Missions, bringing a decade of experience in direct mail and digital fundraising.  She’s also worked in strategic Human Resources roles (Organizational Development and Recruitment) which helps her bring a unique understanding of the value of human capital management within an organization.

Megan resides outside Los Angeles and makes frequent visits to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, particularly her hometown of Seattle, WA. She’s currently working to visit all 50 states (41 and counting), pursuing accessories design as an entrepreneurial outlet and can generally be found with a good cup of coffee or tea in hand.

Rachel Isen

Account Manager

Rachel thrives right where strategy, data and creative meet. She is invigorated by untangling the intricacies of each element and by seeing the pieces come together to get the right message, to the right donors, at the right time. When you combine this with her dedication to protecting our world’s most vulnerable populations and natural resources, it is clear how she has become the unwavering partner to her clients that she is today.

Rachel spent the initial years of her career learning the nuts and bolts of what it takes to develop award-winning marketing strategies from several angles within an agency. This included time working in Client Services, Operations, Project Management, and Data Services with a varied portfolio of clients including American Red Cross, Operation Smile, Mercy Ships, Ducks Unlimited and over 30 Rescue Missions across the U.S. and Canada. Through this time, Rachel’s love for the data grew and led her to jump right in when called upon to trailblaze a new department entirely focused on donor data in combination with client service and coaching. It is this unique combination of skills that has now brought Rachel here to NewportONE.

Rachel is a native of Southern California and studied in Spain during her college years. Her passions include coffee, hiking, camping, and travelling, though nothing makes her happier than being around animals. She has never met an animal that she doesn’t love (except for one run-in with a lama) and hopes to one day have the space to continue her family’s tradition of rescuing animals in need.

Vivian Angel

Account Manager

Vivian Angel is a homegrown Angelino, she studied Criminology at the University of California, Irvine. Instead of pursuing a career in criminology, Vivian found her passion in non-profit fundraising. Vivian launched her development career in database donor management. Fascinated with the intricate details of donor giving and driven by cause-related missions of nonprofits, Vivian has gained 10 years of solid direct response marketing experience working with The Salvation Army Southern California, the University of Southern California, and The Salvation Army Eastern Territory.

Vivian’s cool, calm and collected demeanor endears her as the go-to teammate to solve the most complex of problems. Coupled with her in-depth experience at regional and territory-wide levels as well as her experience in dual roles as both client and in account management, Vivian has proven to be invaluable. Vivian excels at managing all project elements including critical paths, timeline implementations, and troubleshooting errors. With Vivian’s 360-degree lens you can count on donor-centric approaches, data management wellness, and a commitment and determination to solve client needs.

Vivian is a foodie and enjoys exploring hidden spots in Long Beach, California where she resides. If she’s not discovering a new food venue, Vivian is attending local music events, hiking, or simply hanging out at the beach with her husband and chocolate Labrador, Kai.
