Tonie brings more than 30 years of experience supporting mission-driven organizations, beginning her career in the early 1990s with the American Red Cross. She started as a part-time coordinator and quickly advanced to Assistant Executive Director roles at several locations. During her tenure at the Broward County Red Cross, she led fundraising, marketing, and communications, as well as volunteer administration.
In 1999, Tonie was recruited to lead a Planned and Major Gifts program serving the 30 largest Red Cross chapters nationwide, a role that rapidly expanded to include more than 200 Red Cross clients. In 2005, she transitioned to focus on animal welfare organizations, where she spent over 15 years building deep client relationships and developing highly effective, multichannel fundraising programs.
In 2020, Tonie joined RKD to lead the firm’s food bank team, supporting more than 100 clients, while also contributing to the animal welfare team for one year. In January 2026, she joined Newport ONE, fulfilling a long-held career goal of working alongside some of the most strategic and client-focused professionals in the industry.
Outside of work, Tonie divides her time between a lake in North Georgia, the Gulf Coast of Florida, and Maine, where her family and lifelong friends reside. She enjoys being outdoors with her husband—boating, trail hiking, and spending time with her adorable (and very needy) cat, Finley.
